Pay attention on the Solar ones, it is surely the future giant...

With two exeptions, namely Productronica & Apex very, very local is what will succeed in 2009. If the walk the show traffic draw needs a broad circle, that draw will be thin. The two events I mentioned have the strength to draw from a large geographic pool. I am optimistic about Apex, though with today's challenging economic conditions later is no doubt better than sooner when looking for travel dollars.

It's all about the TECH SESSIONS. The exhibitions, themselves, are increasingly less relevant.

Actually I was reading about the Trade-Shows-Ditch-the-bathwater-keep-the-baby that day, and recall all the shows/exhibitions, conferences/forums/seminars in the industry I've attended, would agree most of what Rick said – nowadays, the pattern to prove the company still alive seems the only motivation to drive most companies at the show/exhibition.

However, I realize if keeping repeating without any creativeness or passion, then anything, I mean anything including shows, seminars, forums, or conferences would be boring, without any positive feedback, process, or business leads.

Even the most effective networking would require tons of efforts to build relationship, then profound business network, finally facilitate the sales of now and future.
